What is Nisarga Grama?
On October 22nd, Nisarga Grama will open its doors to 300 children who need care and protection and finally to a total of 500 children before 2018.

Nisarga Grama will offer them an access to all kinds of facilities like dormitories for boys & girls, classrooms, Kitchen & Dining hall, multipurpose hall, Multi-Dimensional Learning Centre (Library, computer lab, science lab, theatre training centre), art and craft centre, vocational training centre, staff quarters, service centre, open air auditorium, cow shed, agricultural activity, solar & bio-gas system, a playground for children, etc. All the children will get there nutritional balanced food, individualized education, and will have access to many developmental activities.

  • Nutritional balanced food: provide a nutritious balanced diet along with minerals and micro-nutrient supplements (vitamin A, zinc, iron, iodized salt, etc.), thereby fighting against malnutrition and empowering children to attain overall development. The basic food will include rice, pulses, vegetables, milk and eggs, etc.
  • Physical and mental healthcare: identify immediate action/prevention to overcome the existing/pre-existing health issues of the children in the Primary HealthCare Centre, and provide the necessary vaccinations. All the children will be covered under Mediclaim Insurance for major issues. Qualified counsellor/child psychiatrists will take care of all the children to identify their needs and assure their emotional well-being.
  • Individualized education: increase the knowledge level and technical skills of the children to strengthen their hands mentally, socially and intellectually, and enable them to get a good job position. The learning centre is designed to bridge the educational gap of the children followed by Sparsha Trust. They will receive a non-formal education according to their age and abilities, based on new ways of teaching methods and innovative tools (digital learning, computer lab, science lab). A personal coaching will be given to those who lag behind in learning. After 12-15 months, these children will be enrolled to neighbouring government schools.
  • Developmental Activities (Art & Craft, Computing, Reading, Scientific experiments, etc.): motivate the children according to their interest and develop their individual skills and talents in that field. The personal development is one of the important components for the overall progress of a child. Children will have access to many Multi-Dimensional activities like Art & Craft workshops, coaching for competitive exams, reading groups, vocational training, theatre training, Language and Personality Development classes, Yoga & Meditation, etc.
