There were moments when she contemplated not wanting to live, but the staff consistently counselled and motivated her.

Anitha, 31 years old, resides in New Lingarajpura, Janakiram layout. Despite her love marriage, her relationship with her husband deteriorated over the years, exacerbated by the challenges of raising three daughters. Frustrated with the constant fights, Anitha left home and began sleeping at Ulsoor temple at night. Witnessing her predicament, the police intervened, taking her to Namma Mane. Upon arriving at the hostel, Anitha was visibly disturbed, having left her three children behind. She was in a weakened state and exhibited abnormal behaviour. When she fell ill, the staff promptly took her to the hospital. After multiple counselling sessions, Anitha gradually shared details about herself, including her address. The staff provided her family information to the police, who then contacted her husband. He eventually came to pick her up. Reflecting on her stay, Anitha expressed gratitude for the care and respect she received. Anitha extended her thanks to them for their support during a challenging time when she had no financial resources.

“They emphasized the importance of education and instilled a sense of discipline”.

I am Ashwathnarayana, the Headmaster of Mahathma High School in Vijaypura. We faced a significant issue where many of our students were not attending school regularly. Even those who did attend often skipped classes and wandered in the villages, some actively seeking work opportunities. Concerned about this situation, we reached out to the Childline 1098 team when they visited our school. The team promptly responded by visiting the homes of these children, providing counselling sessions to both the students and their parents. Thanks to their intervention, the students started attending school regularly, and several of them successfully completed their 8th and 9th classes. We express our gratitude to the Childline 1098 team and commend their efforts in contributing to a brighter future for these children.
