MAST for Youth

Launched in 2014, MAST for Youth (Market Aligned Skills Training) equips young people from low-income backgrounds with the technical and life skills needed to secure meaningful employment. The programme bridges the gap between education and employability, preparing youth for entry-level roles or entrepreneurship through structured training and mentorship.

Many young adults from economically weaker sections, especially those who have completed only secondary school or dropped out of college, struggle to find stable work. They lack exposure to spoken English, computer literacy, and workplace skills, leaving them unprepared for modern job markets and vulnerable to underemployment or exploitation.

Youth aged 18 to 35 years from Bengaluru Urban, Kolar, and Mysore, with a focus on women and first-generation learners from low-income families.

Identification and enrolment of youth in market-linked training programmes.
Courses in communication, computer literacy, and entrepreneurship.
Expert-led sessions, internships, exposure visits, and on-campus interviews.
Job referrals and placement drives in collaboration with companies.
Alumni network to mentor new trainees and promote peer learning.
Partnerships with CSR and government forums for sustainability.

Trained over 2,500 youth, of which 70% are women.
Achieved 70% job placement, with many becoming financially independent.
Supported youth in improving family living standards through income stability and savings.
Encouraged graduates to fund siblings’ education, improve home conditions, and invest in small enterprises
